GOING TO CLASS
Wear clothing that is easy to move in.
Modest comfortable shorts or leotards
and footless tights are suggested. Long baggy pants are not
recommended and bare feet are
essential. Please refrain from wearing perfume
and heavy jewelry.
Yoga should be practiced on an empty
stomach. Allow at least one hour to elapse
after eating a light meal and 2 to 4 hours after a heavy meal.
Food may be taken
half an hour after completing the asanas.
Classes will begin promptly as scheduled.
Please be on time. Those arriving
late to class may not be admitted and leaving early is not
advised. If
you have any special physical problems or medical conditions
including pregnancy,
consult your physician about attending classes and be sure to
let the teacher know.

LEVELS
The levels are designed to allow the student
a thorough understanding of the
posture and depth of the subject. Prolonged study at each level
insures steady progress in the
art and science of Yoga.
- LEVEL 1: A
foundation for learning the whole scope and depth of the Iyengar
method is taught, in
standing poses, inversions and other fundamental postures. A
very basic introduction to
Pranayama* is presented.
- LEVEL 2: Takes the
fundamental postures of Level 1 and works intensely. For
the Level 1 student who wants a more challenging practice.
- LEVEL 3
: Deeper
and expanded study of the LEVEL 1 poses and Pranayama are
covered along with
introduction to variations of inversions and poses of
intermediate difficulty.
Permission of the teacher is required.
*Pranayama is the art of Yoga breathing.
